How to use OneDrive for Business on client application

OneDrive for Business is a place where you can store, sync, and share your work files. As part of Office 365 or SharePoint Server 2013, OneDrive for Business lets you update and share your files from anywhere and work on Office documents with others at the same time.

RMA has adopted OneDrive for Business to enable our staffs an ability to work offline from outside as well as security. This can think as RMA Dropbox.

 

You can use OneDrive for Business in below platforms:-

 

*Even though Onedrive application or systems does not support Android and Windows phone.

 

This how-to illustrates the instruction on using OneDrive for Business using client application.

1. Download OneDrive for Windows

Click this link to download OneDrive for Business

 

2. Click “Download Now”

 

3. There will be a pop-up window to install application “Setup.x86.en-us_GrooveRetail_3V9N8-W93CC-FQPB8-Y9WVF-TVGJ3_TX_PR_”

 

4. Click “Run”

 

5. Contact ITM Helpdesk fill admin account and password.

 

6. Waiting for installation.

 

 

7. Click “All Done!”

 

8. Click Start button at the left bottom corner of your desktop and click “All Programs”

 

9. Click OneDrive for Business 2013 under Microsoft Office 2013 folder

 

10. Paste your Intranet link (library URL) on the field provided.

For example: https://intranet.rmagroup.net/my/personal/patranit_l/Documents/Forms/All.aspx

*your intranet account

 

11. Click “Sync Now”

 

12. OneDrive for Business will be shown in Favorites.

 

13. Put your document in OneDrive for Business.

Note: OneDrive will sync automatically (picture13.1).

If OneDrive is not sync automatically, right click OneDrive icon then choose “Sync Now” (picture 13.2)

Note: The file name must not have as below:-

  • special symbols such as (\ , / , :  , * , ?, " , < , > , | , # , { , } , % , ~ , & ).
  • Folder name and file name combinations can have up to 250 characters
  • file type allow such as  .pdf, .xlsx, .docx, .csv, .txt, .pptx
  • quota for each user's My Site is 100 MB.

 

14. Check your uploaded document in your Intranet account.
