How to configure Windows Time in a proper way


In most OS today we no longer need to set the date, time manually. And also by doing so will introduce a risk that may causes some applications not working correctly from the differentiation between servers and clients timestamp. In this how to will show how to configure the Windows Time in a proper way by using NTP protocol.


In RMA, we already have a central NTP servers which are our domain controllers ( and for Bangkok). You can use nearest domain controllers to synchronize clients time as well.


To set the time properly, just run below commands as local admin.


w32tm /config /syncfromflags:domhier /update
net stop w32time
net start w32time
w32tm /stripchart /


This screenshot is a sample.



Once you see the star in the bar, then you can close the command prompt window.
